Improving Community Health: Accelerating Change in Medical Education

Here’s a video about a recent conference in Sacramento led by our medical students. UC Davis School of Medicine has been working with the American Medical Association (AMA) and a consortium of the nation’s leading medical schools as part of a special AMA initiative to reshape and transform medical education within a rapidly evolving health-care environment

The School of Medicine hosted the AMA’s national “Accelerating Change in Medical Education” conference, which was organized and led by medical students from UC Davis along with fellow students from several other medical schools around the country.

The meeting focused on health equity and community-based learning, with an emphasis on encouraging students — the nation’s future physicians, nurses and other health-care professionals — to become advocates for improving community health as well as individual health.
